It's getting to that time of year, the nights are drawing in, it's getting colder and soon, it's going to be Christmas. Only seems like last week that we were celebrating Christmas 2016!.
Here at Rover 800 OC Towers, we have a number of events in the planning stages, to keep you occupied during the winter months. A Service Bulletin shall be coming out, shortly.....and, we have the NEC Classic Car Show coming up in November, an event which brings many clubs from around the country, into one place, for the weekend.
So, what about me and my fleet? Well, my immaculate, recently acquired Mk1 827 SLi is currently in with my mechanic. The timing belt and water pump are being replaced, as well as all the fluids. It has been noted that Hondamatic transmission fluid, is getting very hard to come by. We at the Rover 800 Owners Club, know that AE Wilcox (Wickwar), a former Rover dealer, now MG (among other marques) have a few 2.5 litre bottles of Hondamatic, left. We are looking at alternatives, as Hondamatic is getting harder to come by and as any enthusiast knows, it's the only fluid you should use in your C25A and C27A automatic.
And other things? Well, hobby wise, I recently purchased an early 1980s BAIRD 26" Television with Teletext. I picked this monster up on the way back from Gaydon. It certainly added a 'Radio Rentals Rep' feel, to the interior of my 1986 Sterling!
Watch out in your mailbox for further updates from the Rover 800 Owners Club. Until then, as always, thanks for reading.
